At the entrance to the conservatory is a giant iron sculture of a butterfly. When I saw it, I couldn't help think that it would look awesome stitched - and here is the chart.
We then spent the afternoon by the Falls, behind the Falls and in a new attraction, Experience Niagara's Fury. Aside from the weather (although the day we were there the weather was not bad), the Winter is actually a good time to visit the Falls. There's not that many people, no line ups, and no problem finding a parking spot. Click here to view the photo album.
Have a great
March Break!!
I was at the butterfly conservatory a couple of summers ago and loved it!! There is something magical about having so many butterflies surrounding you.
ReplyDeleteWhat is "Experience Niagara's Fury"? Haven't heard of that one before.

I never heard of it as well. I'm not sure if it's only offered in the Winter or if it's a new permanent attraction. Here's a link to the website http://www.niagarasfury.com/ You can also google for the Magic Pass, which has all 3 attractions for $25.00. We had a great day.
ReplyDeleteThx. Not clear from the website. I take it that the experience is simulated, not actual vibration and mist from the Falls themselves? Was it worth it, in your opinion?
ReplyDeleteThe attractions I usually recommend are The Walk Behind the Falls and the Maid of the Mist ride (not this time of year, though!). I feel that both of those give you a good sense of the power of the falls that you don't get from looking from road level. I grew up in NF, so knew the area very well back in the 70s and 80s.

It is simulated, yes. If I had only paid for the Fury, I would have been disappointed. But as part of the Magic Pass, I thoroughly enjoyed the day.
ReplyDeleteWorth remembering next time I play tour guide down that way. Thanks.
